TINY TOTS/CREATIVE MOVEMENT: Basic movement and locomotor skills for 2 - 4 year olds. Students must be 2 by December. They must be potty-trained, be able to follow basic directions, and say goodbye to mom and dad at the classroom door.
MINI'S/CREATIVE DANCE: Blends movement, music, improvisations, and basic dance steps while providing and excellent introduction for future study of all dance techniques. Ages 5-6.
TAP: All ages can enjoy the rhythms and movements of tap. In addition to interpreting the mood of the music, students also develop coordination of mind and body and a more perceptive sense of rhythm, timing, and phrasing
BALLET: Ballet is the foundation of all dancing. It provides the grace, poise, and technique needed to be proficient in other areas of dance and gymnastics.
PRE-BALLET: Basic ballet skills, terminology, rhythm, and coordination are taught, practiced, and developed through movements and music.
JAZZ: Class includes isolations, stretches, and footwork. The entire body gets a workout as students are exposed to contemporary and theatrical jazz styles. Students must be enrolled in a ballet technique class in order to take jazz classes.
PRE-JAZZ: Basic jazz movements, streches and footwork.
MODERN/CONTEMPORARY: Class is offered to students with a ballet and jazz background who are studying ballet concurrently. It encompasses balance, control, flexibility, and interpretation of music with dance.
HIP HOP: This class starts with a conditioning warm-up and teaches contemporary street dance.
AFRO-CARRIBEAN: This class unites dance, rhythm, and song. It creates an enviornment and dance community that nutures, heals, renews, and inspires the body and soul.
MAJORETTE: A dance style that performs stunts by dance movements and gymnastics.
PRAISE DANCE: Employs Ballet and Interpretive dance with a lot of additional arm movements.
ACRO/TUMBLING: The skill, practice or sport of excuting gymnastics without the use of an apparatus.
ADULT CLASSES: In tap, jazz, ballet and hip hop are a wonderful form of conditioning and are extremely enjoyable. any parents of current students take classes at our studio. You're never too old to dance!
ATTENDANCE:
Every attempt should be made for students to attend class each week. A student’s attendance not only impacts their development, but the progress of the class as a whole.
1. Students more than 15 minutes late for class will not be allowed to participate. They will have to sit and watch and take notes on the class.
2. Absences: Each student is allowed 5 excused absences. Excused absences include: weddings, funerals, graduations, school functions and illness. Likewise, students are allowed 5 unexcused absences.
3. If a student has more than 5 unexcused absences, and the parent has not made contact with the, they will be dropped from the roll.
